XXIᵉ SIÈCLE — Chapter One

On Sep 9th in London, we launched XXIe Siècle. A new global art programme focused on the performing arts. The programme opened with 'Soft Shell', a new work by Izaak Brandt, staged within the Serpentine Pavilion.
Soft Shell marks the first work presented under XXIe Siècle, with more to follow. It is also Brandt's first public showing of the piece, bringing sculpture together with a six-person choreography rooted in breakdancing, set inside the architecture of the Pavilion. Moving between hardness and softness, strength and fragility, the work considers the relationships between young men and their own fractured sense of self.
Introducing NOAM XXIᵉ SIÈCLE
NOAM marks its tenth anniversary with a facelift and a new label identity: XXIe Siècle. The 21st century.
This is a tribute to the original spirit that inspired NOAM, and it represents what we've been working toward from the very start.
The idea of NOAM was born in Paris. In the conviction that the best things happen when craft, beauty and ideas share a table. At the beginning of the 20th century, Paris was in the middle of a cultural awakening. The brasserie (originally meaning "Brauerei") was never just hospitality. It became a social and cultural incubator. A space where ideas were shared movements were born and people connected beyond status, background or ideology.
Not just hospitality. Spaces where culture happened.
As a homage to the cultural spirit of the 20th century, we decided to place another one in front of it. We proudly introduce XXIe Siècle. The 21st century.
Not nostalgia. The now. To everyone who believes that culture still has the power to bring people closer together.
Time is the only luxury that matters.
